Make money selling Fun Food...like Popcorn!
We called it before the world market collapsed. About 12 months before the slide, we suggested on our website that the way to make money in hard times, is to work your own business, selling fun foods, like popcorn, at high profit margins! It's the perfect time to start your own concession stand business or expand a small business. The Fun Food industry is one of the few that's practically recession proof. Most people have stopped taking expensive destination vacations, and nearby attractions are seeing a huge increase in traffic.
My ongoing posts will offer helpful tips and hints in getting your business started, offering the right products, expanding, how to increase profit margins, and how to calculate how much money you can make!
Popcorn is a perfect example of a profitable fun food. Here are some excellent items you can consider to get started in the popcorn business, a popcorn machine, and there are different models available from Gold Medal, Benchmark,Paragon and others. You will need a few cases of popcorn supplies, such as popcorn portion packs, that have the oil, salt and the corn included. These are great because they are convenient and easy to use. The other item I suggest is some popcorn scoop boxes. Thats it, that is all you need to get you in business. You can sell a single serving for an average price if about $1-$1.50. If you do the math, you can achieve around 80% profit margins with popcorn! Imagine you set up a stand at the local high school basketball game, and charged $1.50 per serving.
